PAHIATUA, Feb. 22. A win was scored by the Manganiutu Tennis Club’s A team when it met Alfredton in that district, the score being 22 sets to 5 and 177 games to 114, Pahiatua was beaten by Danncvirkc on Saturday, when seven teams from tho Pahiatua Bowling Club visited Danncvirkc. Piaying conditions were ideal. The Danncvirke team, consisting of Keen, Johnson, Young, and Petherick (skip) holders of the Gosling Stars defeated tho challengers,
Mcßae, Wright, O’Sullivan, and W. JiritL*rand (skip), 20 points to 18. The teams match resulted in a win for Dannc.virke by 130 points to 108, each side winning three games. Cittadini, MeCardic, Gregory, Mills (skip) 15. The Woodvillo Club won the Gosling Stars when they played a game against Dannevirke, the holders. The Woodville team consisted of Twaddell, Jamioson, Hawke, and Smith (skip), and the Bannevirke players were Keen, Johnson, Young, und Petherick (skip). Tho Hedges Memorial Shield was annexed by Fireman B. Fail-weather when the annual fire brigade competition was hold in the Post Office Square on Sunday morning. Mr Fairweather scored an aggregate of seven points, closely followed by Fireman E. Collins with six. In view of the’ fact that he is a junior member..of the brigade, Air Fairweather’s performance is of particular merit. The officials were: Judges, Fireman J. Stokes and ex-Fireman J. Taylor; time-keepers, Mr A. J. Fairweather and Fireman A. Gowlcr; starter, ex-Fireman R. Nisbet. Detailed . results are One-man union event: Fireman E.
