SCHOOLS REMAIN SHUT.
IN SOUTHLAND AREA. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Feb. 23. It was announced to-niglit that, in the meantime, owing to the outbreak of infantile paralysis, the schools in Southland would not reopen till March 8. During the day three more cases were admitted to hospital making six since noon yesterday. The patients are a boy aged two from Invercargill, a boy aged ten from Wallacetown, and a young woman from Invercargill. All are definitely paralysed but not severely. HAWKE’S BAY POSITION. NAPIER. Feb.. 23. An announcement that schools in the Hawke’s Bay Education Board’s area would definitely reopen next Monday morning was made by the chairman ol the board (Mr G. A. Maddison) this morning. “There have been a number of inquiries during the past few days as to whether there will be a further postponement on account of the case of infantile paralysis in Naper,’ said Mr Maddison, “but there is no cause for alarm and schools will definitely re-open next Monday, as arranged.”-
