FEILDING GOLF CLUB.

ANNUAL REPORT. The Feilding Golf Club’s report, to bo presented by the president (Mr G. M. Moffitt) at the annual meeting, reads as follows: The committee wish to report that the year was eventful in that it witnssed the opening of the new lay-out’ of 18 holes constructed to the plans suggested by Mr AV. E. Carthew. The flood damage of the previous season necessitated a reorganisation of the original plan, and

1 1 the new lay-out, while not complete, i! gives every promise of providing mem- ' 1 hers with an interesting course. Steady 1 1 progress is being made with the work ; despite the additional maintenance ' j rendered necessary. The usual competitions were held. The club was successful in retaining possession of the Graham-Chadwick Cup. Club chain,'pionships resulted: Men, senior,. Iv. iG. Salmond; intermediate, P. C. ' Miles; junior, S. G. Sauer. Brown ! Cup, H. M. Duthie. Ladies: Senior, Miss T. Carthew; junior, Mrs G. Dar-] ragh; Brown Cup, Mrs J. Goodbe-| here. It is with regret that the commit-1 tee records the passing of Rev. Father! Hegarty, who as a member of the committee rendered most valuable service. The vacancy was filled by Mr A. K. | Robertshaw, who at the end of the j season was obliged to resign on account of his transfer to New Plymouth. The membership at the close of the season stood as follows, by comparison : —1936. —72 men, 17 country, 10 junior, 3 non-playing, 1 hon. life; 71 ladies, 26 country, 9 junior, 18 nonplaying, total 227. 1935 : 76 men, 16 country, 12 junior, 5 non-playing, 1 hon. life, 71 ladies, 17 country, 8 junior, 23 non-playing, total 229. Under the rules, Messrs A. C. McCorkindale and E. Fair retire from the committee, but are eligible for re-elec-tion. These vacancies, together with that caused by the resignation of Mr Robertshaw, together with other official positions will require to be filled at the annual meeting, Mr A. H. Maguire, the club’s auditor, is also eligible for re-election.
