(From Our Own Correspondent.! AIILSON, Feb. 19. A meeting of the Milson Tennis Club ivas held at the residence of Mrs Rasmussen last evening. Mr J. Gilbert was chairman during the absence of Mr K. Buhner. Others present were Mrs Rasmussen, Mrs Taylor, and Mr Gumming. Air 11. Taylor and Air C. Ferguson were elected to the committee in place of Mr Williams and Air C. Fairbairn. It was decided to hold a handicap tournament on the first available Sunday. Alls Rasmussen and Alls Taylor are to procure buttons for the event. The secretary was asked to procure a suitable kettle tor use on club days when only few members are present. Accounts for £6 8s 3d were passed for payment. The first meeting of the School Committee for the year was held in the school during the week. Air F. Alurphy was in the chair. Owing to severe damage done to the gardens and shrubs by straying stock the following motion was passed: That tender* ho called for the erection of a turnstile in place of the small gale, to be locked alter school hours, arid that the small gate bo erected to give access to the tennis courts and football fields through the horse paddock. Also, that the children be instructed that the use of the school enclosure after school hours is forbidden and the outside area only is to be used, and that they are to have the new access through the horse paddock. It was decided to advise the district engineer in view of the near approach of winter that, repairs should he undertaken to the road leading from Montreal Street to the school. Mr and Airs S. Foot, of Wanganui, were visitors to Milson during the week and were staying with Airs G. Richmond, of Alontreal Street. Air and Airs N. Green, Mr and Airs G. Richmond, and Air and Airs E. Bulmcr were recent, visitors to Wanganui for the Foot-Richmond wedding.
