BUNNYTHORPE INSTITUTE.

There was a fair attendance at the ] first meeting held this year by the f Bunnythorpe Women’s Institute. Mr*# , Jackson presided and extended greet- ' ings to all. A vote of sympathy was . passed with Mrs Baker in her illness 5 and it was hoped that she would soon , be well on the road to recovery. A ' letter was read from Mrs Clements I ’ tendering her resignation on account of having left the district, and this was. ■ accepted with regret. Members were I reminded of the group meeting which j is to be held at Pohangina. It is hoped as many as possible will attend. The entries for the competition (a spray of flowers) were numerous and the judges found their task a very hard one. The winners of this competition were:— Mrs Nix 1, Miss B. Pedersen 2. A competition was then held for the best buttonhole, material and cotton being provided, and some very good work was displayed. Miss L. Gore took first place and Mrs B. Williamson was second. Nominations for the annual meeting (to be held next mouth) were taken and it was stated that if any member were desirous of sending in any further nominations they must ,be sent to cither the president or the secretary by February 2S. A dainty afternoon tea was served, bringing an enjoyable meeting to a close. The hostesses for March are Mesdames Burrell, Pederson, Williamson, Robson, Wood, and Miss B. Cheetham.
