MARTON, Jan. 28. Mr anti Mrs A. W. Tuekor liavo returned to Marton from an extensive motoring holiday. A high standard of scholastic attainment has been achieved by the Marton District High School during the past year, as tho percentage of passes in the various higher examinations reveals. Of ten candidates for tho University entrance (matriculation) examination, eight wore successful; there were three candidates for training college entrance and three for the higher leaving certificate, all being successful; each of tho two candidates for the Alexander Scholarship, tenable for two years at tho Wanganui Technical College, succeeded; while three candidates for the teaching 'profession have been acceptejl and will b.e entering training college this year.
