RONGOTEA.

RONCOTEA, Jan. 25. At a meeting of the Rongotea Horticultural Society held on Saturday exening (Mrs Will being in the chair) it was decided to establish a special section in which members of young farmers’ clubs in the district can compete in classes for mangolds, swedes, and carrots. Messrs A. N. Morcom, H. N. Rowe and D. Rowe were appointed a committee to arrange the schedule, and also to got into personal touch with the clubs at Kairanga, Rangiotu, and Rongotea. It is hoped to secure the services of an officer of the Department of Agriculture to act as judge in this section. The next show is to bo held on AJarch 16 and Afr J. Linklater, former member for the district, is to bo asked to perforin the opening ceremony. The season so far has been unusually suitable for dahlias, and a brilliant display of these should grace the benches. The committee was encouraged by the promise of several donations and the indications are that the fortheon vyr autumn show will bo a splendid suci ♦
