LINTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, Jan. 25.
A dance was held in the Linton Hall on Anniversary Night in aid of St. Colomba's Church garden party funds. Music was supplied by Mr Brill and Mr J. Batchclar acted as M.C. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee. Rev. J. Ho.land was present, and also brought a party of dancers from Palmerston North.
Miss Dorothy Buglass was the guest of Miss Norma Terry, recently. Congratulations huve been extended to Mins Terry, who was successful in passing the University entrance examination. Miss Ivy Anc-01l lias left for Wellington, where she has taken up a position. Mrp Wheeler, of Wc.lington, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Ha.ey. .Urs W. Gooch in spending a-holiday with Air and Alls Voss at Pahautanui. Mr H. Alcßreaty visited his parents .n Linton during the week-end. Misses A. Heard and R. Alaloncy, of Wellington, wore the guests of Air and AJrs Heard during the ueek-end. Friends of Aire A. Rix will be sorry to hear that she was compelled to enter hospital to undergo an operation last week. Two small sons of Air and Mrs Treinbath had the misfortune to meet with painful accidents last week, one sustaining a broken log while playing, and the other swallowing a nail. Mrs D. Currin is spending a holiday in Auckland. Air P. Sheridan, junr., who is on hie annual holiday, ie spending a few days in Palmerston North. Mr and Mrs IC. Crawford am spending their holidays at the beach. Air and Airs C Crawford, of Takapau, Hawke’s Bay, wore visitors to Linton recently.
