WOMAN BURNED

FIRE AT PUKEKOHE

PUKEKOHE, Dec. 29.

* good save was made by the Pukekofie Fire Brigade early this morning when it received a ealT to a fire in a four-roomed house in King Street, cupied by a Maori, Hand Kawlti. The family made a hurried escape. Airs Kawlti was awakened by the screams of her infant child, and found the wall of. the bedroom ablaze. Her husband saved the child while she escaped. Airs Kawlti suffered severe burns to one arm, and after receiving medical attention was removed to a private hospital at l'ukekohe. A neighbour gave the alarm, and the brigade soon had the blaze extinguished. Alost of the damage was confined to one room.
