LONG TEACHING RECORD.
CHANGES AT TERRACE END SCHOOL.
Aliss K. BiUens, who has been on the staff of the Terrace End School for the past 27 years, has been appointed to the position of infant mistress at a New Plymouth school and will take up tier duties in the New Year. The Terrace End School possesses an interesting record of long service by members of its teaching staff. Recently Miss Al. E. O’Donnell retired from the school after 30 years’ service, and an even longer association, as she was herself educated there. The present headmaster, Air A. AA’. Thompson, has been 19 years with the school in all. For nine years lie was an assistant master and then went to AA’est F.nd, Palmerston North, to return to Terrace End four years later as headmaster.
Aliss J. Al. Chapman has been 28 years on the staff. As a pupil, before going to training college, Mr L. AL Alorine, now on the staff, was taught by her. Air Alorine returned to Terrace End a teacher and has been there 12 years. Mrs S. T. AVrigley, who lias been associated with Aliss Billons throughout her term, has over 20 years to her credit. Another male teacher. AL- E. G. AA ; . Sclnvarz. has been with the school 13 venrs. Aliss B. A. Hayman, who will teach at Foxtnn. on promotion, next year, has completed ten years at Terrace End. Airs L C. Afiles and Aliss M. Laverv embellish this remarkable record with service of 14 and 12 venrs respectively. The total service to Terrace End School of these nine teachers in n permanent staff strength of 13 in 155 years.
