GOLDEN WEDDING.
PAHIATUA RESIDENTS
Air and Airs Thomas Bason, old and respected residents of Pahiatua, celebrated their golden wedding recently with a gathering of the laniily and friends, and they were showered with congratulations from all over New Zealand.
Air and Airs Bason were married in Feilding oil December 5, 1886. Mr Bason's laniily was engaged in brickmaking for three generations in Wanganui and Pahiatua, and Air Bason retired in 1912. Air Bason’s latlier and his grandfather came to New Zealand by the Queen jNlargaret, arriving at Nelson in 1855. They sailed from there to AVanganui, where they settled. Airs Bason arrived with her mother in \\ anganui 63 years ago. She was formerly Miss J. Wilson. There are six children living: Airs E. Morrison, Auckland; Airs Al, Cameron, AVellington; Airs H. Bullin New Plymouth; Airs Funnel!, AVaiuku; Airs Stanley Watson, New Plymouth; and Air S. T. Bason, Upper Hutt. There are 12 grandchildren. Mr Bason’s only sister, Airs Signel, from Wanganui, was present, also Airs Bason’s brother, Mr James AVilson, Wanganui, and her sisters, Airs Reid, Airs Johnstone and Airs Carswell, of Wanganui.
