On Saturday a friendly tennis match was played on the local courts between Bunnytliorpe and AA’iiakarongo playens, resulting in a win for the local team. Afternoon tea was provided. Arrangements were made for the breaking-up ceremony, and it was decided to have the gathering on tiie Recreation Ground, where the prizes will be presented and a sports programme for the scholars will tako place. This being the last meeting for the year, the chairman conveyed the season’s greetings to the committee and to Air Abraham (headmaster) and staff. A mooting of the Bunnythorpc Hal! Company directors took place on Alonday, when there wore present: Afessrs J. AV. Glovcly (chairman). J Scheldt, C. .'Widerson, E. C’levely, AI. Jopson, and A\’. B. Dnthio. The secretary reported on the finances of the company, which will show a credit balance at the end of tile year, and it was decided to recommend at the annual meeting that it be carried forward. The retiring directors, who are eligible for re-election, arc Messrs J. AV. Clevel.v, Schcidt, and Anderson. The painting of the hall and other repairs were held over until after tho annual meeting. At a Labour Party meeting hold on Saturday Air AV. H. Olliver gave an addrrss to a small gathering. Air \\ r . T. Alaxwcll is visiting Christchurch. The friends of Air and Airs Osborne will regret to learn that their daughter is an inmate of the Hospital. Air J. Sullivan, who has been laid up for some time due to an accident, has returned to work. # % Tho December meeting of the Women s Institute took the form of a children’s

afternoon, there being a large attendance of children. Father Christmas was present and presented each child with a gift, and conveyed the season's greetings to the parents. Airs O. Jackson presided and thanked Father Christmas for attending. She also conveyed the season’s greetings to tho members.

Air J. Robertson./ formerly manager qf tho Glaxo factory, who has been on holiday in Australia, has returned home and was a visitor to Bunnythorpo a few days ago. At a meeting of the Sports Club committee, which was presided over by Mr 1). Higgle, the programme as drawn up was submitted. It is a very attractive one, including cycling, running, and a number of new novelty events. The Manawatu Centre have allotted to the Bunnythorpc Club the 440yds championship. With some slight alterations tho programme was adopted. Reports of the subcommittees were received and a sub-eom-mittee was set up to wait on tlie Domain Board with a request for assistance to put the ground in order.
