AIARTON, Dec. 8. Having sustained a broken arm this morning, Mrs TI. 11. Richardson (Bond [Street) was admitted to hospital. Mr and Mrs AI. AlcConachie, of Hawis Street, are on holidaV at Tangimoana. AI iss AI. K. Simpson and Air G. Simpson have returned to “Oloseburn” after a visit to Hawke’s Bay. The opening shoot of the season on the Marton Defence Bifle Club’s range was held at the week-end. Two teams competed in a friendly match, on« of club members and the other representing the Marton Troop, Manawatu Alounted Rifles. The Alount.ed Rifles put up a very good performance, scoring 303 off the rifle. The club’s total was 404. The Afarton Athletic Club committee held a meeting last night, when Air C. C. AreDonalcl presided. It was reported that owing to the Christmas trading season, Stratford and Levin competitors would be unable to meet the Alarton Club in the annual interclub contest until the New Y T cnr. The date will be fixed later. It was decided to hold a carnival sports meeting on the park. Owing to the transfer of Air J. Tolley to Te Kniti, Air K. AVright was appointed to the vacancy on the executive. Appreciation of Air Tolley’s service was placed on record.
