TERRACE END SCHOOL.
CONCERT ON THURSDAY NIGHT. Last year the performance of the Terrace End School pupils in their annual concert was acknowledge by the Palmerston North newspapers as being the best of its kind that had been given in this city. This year those responsible for the out to surpass the standard attained in production of the school concert have set 1935. Rehearsals have indicated the pronability of this aim being achieved. The programme arranged is not an unduly long one. A feature of this year’s effort will lie a series of national and folk songs of Great Britain and other countries, doscants alternating with unison singing. There are two short plays and two operettas. Seflon Freeman, champion youthful vocal soloist at tho last Manawatu competitions will give two items. One operetta by standards one and two children, “The Land of Broken Toys,” should be an entertainment of its own. The major operetta by the seniors and the choir is an ambitious effort on a scale not frequently attempted by primary school children. At the same time there has been no straining of tho talents of any of these young performers. The infants, always attractive, are represented in dance and playette. Audiences in past years have shown ready appreciation of drill and folk dancing which again this year is a strong section of the programme which will be presented at tlie Opera House on Thursday evening at 7.45.
