BRITAIN’S WINTER

FIRST SNOW IN LONDON. (United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (British Official Wireless.) Received December 8, 11.55 a.m. RUGBY, Dec. 7. In many parts of Britain there were heavy falls of snow during the weekend, and in the London area the first fall of the winter caused some disorganisation of road transport, the surfaces of many roads in the Home counties being in a dangerous condition. Snow lay so thick on some roads in Northern England and Scotland as to render them impassable. The cold weather continued to-day, with bright sunshine.
