GAIN BY LABOUR. LONDON, Nov. 20. The Greenock by-election, l necessitated by the death of Sir Godfrey Collins, resulted: It. Gibson (Labour,) 20,594 V. E. Cornelius (Liberal National) 17,990 Majority for Gibson ... 2,004 This is a Labour gain. The voting at the last general election was: Colonel the lit. Hon. Sir G. P. Collins, K.8.E., C.M.G. Liberal National), 20,299; T. Irwin (Labour), 16,945; J. L. Kinlock (Independent), 1236.
