STAMPEDE IN THEATRE
FALSE ALARM OF FIRE. NEW YORK, Nov. 27. A message from Coaldale (Pennsylvania) states that 50 children were injured as the result of a false fire alarm in a theatre causing a stampede. The alarm was caused by a boy tampering with a radiator valve releasing steam. The children were quietened, but ran wild again as alarmed parents entered the theatre.
