ALL SAINTS’ CHURCH

MEN’S CLUB SOCIAL. The various organisations of the All Saints’ parish were the guests of the Men’s Club at a successful gathering held in the kindergarten hall on \\ednesday. Mr E. J. Whitehouse, as senior vice-president, extended a hearty welcome to those present, among whom were Mr and Mrs A. T. Pritchard, well-known parishioners, who have returned from a visit to England. Apologies for absence were received from Rev. Canon G. Y. Woodward and Messrs Cross, Goldfinch and Ramsay. Concert items were a feature of the first half of the programme, which was followed by dancing. The following artists contributed items : Vocal, Mrs Aynsley, Master S. Wright and Messrs A. E. 'Penfold, J. Pritchard and H. J. King; instrumental, Mr J. Penketli (piano-accordion); humorous, Mr W. Tabor. Miss S. Whitehouse gave a clever exposition of tap-dancing. Mrs McNeilly gave of her services freely as accompaniste, while Mr F. Caple played splendidly for the dancing. Mr J. Penketh made an efficient M.C. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss G. Hands and partner. Cards were enjoyed by non-dancers. Members of the club, under the leadership of Mr A. Dryden and committee members, provided an abundant supper. The function proved a happy finale to the season’s activities. The club now. goes into recess until March, 1937.
