AVIATION MATTERS
NEW ZEALAND CLUB. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON Nov. 27. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Aero Club was held to-day. The following officers were elected : President, Mr M. J. Macalister ; vice-presidents, Messrs A. B. Burgess and T. E. O’Dowd; bon. auditor, Mr T. Forsyth. A tribute was paid to Mr Weinstein, who did not seek re-election as president. An application is to be made to the Governor-General to make representations to His Majesty for the alteration of the title to Royal New Zealand Aero Club. A proposal was adopted to establish an award of honour for meritorious service to aviation, or for any outstanding feat achieved in connection with aviation. The club is to call for competitive designs for a medal. A prize of five guineas'is to be given for the best design. The North Island and. the South Island pageants for 1937 were allocated to the Western Federated and West Coast Clubs, respectively, and they will be held at Wanganui and Hokitika on dates to be arranged later.
The Director of Air Services is to be asked to arrange for the examinations for the first appointment and the B license being held on separate dates so that candidates can have the opportunity of sitting for both.
