TRAGEDY ON SHIP. NEW YORK, Nov .24. Five workers on a ship were killed by fumes arising, it is believed, irom dry ice, when they descended a hold to unload casks of frozen cherries. Three others were overcome and were rescued by policemen wearing gas masks. TRAPPED BY FLAMES. CHICAGO, Nov. 25. A message from New Orleans states that, nine men trapped in a burning ship are feared to be dead. Firemen fought the flames for some hours, then sealed a hatch in which were six white men and three negroes, and injected steam and water.
