EKETAHUNA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) EKETAIiUNA, Nov. 24. Mrs Iv. Y. Boyes is at present on a visit to Wellington. Mr and Mrs W. Nagel of Palmerston North, are visiting friends in Eketahuna. Mrs P. Bouzard has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mrs C. Dillon and family are spending a fortnight’s holiday with Mr and Mrs Archibald, of Marton, who were former residents of Newman. Mr G. Welch, of South Featherston, lias been visiting Mr and Mrs J. Barnes, of Nireaha. Mr and Mrs John Drysdale, who have been residents of Putara for many years, have taken up their residence at Rongokokako. Mr Christie has left for Hamilton, where ho will reside. Mrs R. Farrow left by aeroplane recently to spend a holiday in Blenheim. A_niilling labourer, J. O’Meara, whilst working on tho Clapham Estate at Alfredton, had the misfortune to suffer a broken thigh. A log was being hauled when Mr. O'Meara slipped and, in falling, was pinned by the log which had to be jacked up to release him. The injured man, after being attended by a doctor, was taken by tho Masterton Ambulance to hospital. At the monthly meeting of the Eketaliuna sub-branch of tho Plunket Society Mrs Albfechtsen presided. Accounts amounting to £1 8s were passed for payment. Correspondence was dealt with, including a letter enclosing a donation from the Kaiparoro branch of the Women’s Institute, and another from tho central council. Tho secretary was instructed to write to Mrs Bassett, of the Kaiparoro Women’s Institute, thanking them for their donation V £1 the profits from their annual flower show. The nurse’s report for the month of CcTouer showed visits to homes 12, visits of adults to rooms, 58; visits of babies to rooms. 56; older. children, 5. Subscriptions were acknowledged as follow : Mrs Kennedy, ss; Mi's Hawkins, ss; Mrs Falconer, 3s.
