Miss F. Edwards, of Palmerston North, is • the guest of Mrs F. J. Mehrtens, Pukengahu, Eltham. Mrs E. L. Humphries, of New Plymouth, has been spending a few days in Palmerston North, as the guest of Mrs Curnow.

Mrs Margaret Anderson, the oldest resident of Cambridge, celebrated her 9oth bii;thday on Sunday. Mrs Anderson is fairly robust for her years and maintains a keen interest in public topics. Mrs Anderson’s life is of interest, as she was one of the Nova Scotians who joined an expedition to New Zealand to establish the Waipu settlement. Her parents were Captain and Mrs Duncan McKenzie, who took their family to Adelaide from Nova Scotia on the ship Highland Lass. Two years later, Rev. Norman McLeod led the Nova Scotian emigrants to AVaipu, New Zealand, where Mrs Anderson arrived at the age ot 111 years.

There were ton bridesmaids at the wedding of Hon. Hetty Baden-Powell and Mr Gervas Clay, which took place at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Bentley, on September 24. The bridesmaids included Hon. Heather Baden-Powell (sister of the bride), Miss Evic and Miss Rosie Clay, and Miss Fenella Sergeant (cousins of the bridegroom), Miss Peggy Edge, Miss Rosemary Earrer-Mauby, and Miss Margaret Crawford. Guides and Scouts a prominent part in the wedding. The Chief Scout gave his daughter away, and Bishop Chandler, rector of Bentley, performed the ceremony.
