New Zealand’s first training ship, the Sparrow, was to bo commissioned by the end of the month. Tlie ship could take 80 boys and 125 bad applied for the positions available. . . A Palmerston North firm was advertising tailor-made costumes at £4 4s and skirts at £1 10s.
