WEIGHT-LIFTING TESTS.
NEW ZEALAND RECORDS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. At a demonstration of weight-lifting to-night-, J. Cooper (featherweight), set a new New Zealand two-arm curl record of 1001 lb. The previous record was 92Jlb. Cooper established a new record for the pull over and press in tlie wrestler’s bridge of 164£1b. The previous record was 1401 b. With the greatest ease. Cooper broke the Australian and New Zealand two-hand dead-lift records. He lifted 363J1b. L. Woolcott established a new New Zealand rectangular fix with a lift of 109ilb, and beat the New Zealand right-arm curl record of 601 b. bv 6Jlb. Later, Woolcott broke tlie New Zealand two-arm curl record, which stood at 1271 b. by lilting 1281 b. In the middleweight class, F. Kidd established a new New Zealand record for the abnominal raise of 56J lb.
