SCREEN COMPETITION. ITALY “DISCOVERS” SIR SEYMOUR HICKS. British films on August 18 scored a success at the International Cinematograph Show at Venice when “Scrooge, of tho Twickenham Film Studios, was shown. The film was pronounced by critics one of the most beautiful shown, and it is believed that it will lie awarded a prize. . Tho photography was greatly admired, while Seymour Hicks, unknown to the Italian public, was hailed as “ an excellent actor” ably supported by a first-class cast. Eleven British films were shown, including “The beloved Vagobond” and “Broken Blossoms.” Seventy-two films belonging to fifteen nations competed for the Mussolini Cup awarded to the best film.
