PAHIATUA, Sept. 28
In the final of the Makomako Ladies’ Golf Club championship, played at the week-end, Mrs A. J. Morgan beat Mrs F. Ebbett.
Cold weather, with intermittent rain showers, was experienced in Pahiatua to-day. The barometer reading at 5 p.in. was 28.8 degrees and the temperature 51deg. Fahr. ' Mrs G. J. Gregory, of Gisborne, is spending a holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. A. Walsh. Miss A. Pitt, of Wanganui, is also visiting Mr and Mrs \Valsh. Mr and Mrs F. Cowper, of Pongaroa, have left on a two months’ holiday to Japan.
