OROUA DOWNS SCHOOL.

NEW BUILDING DISCUSSED. At the monthly meeting of the AVanganui Education Board, yesterday, on the motion of Air Al. H. Oram it was decided to recommend to the Education Department that the new building to be erected at Oroua Downs to replace the school which was destroyed by fire recently should be of the board’s standard type. It was stated that the district was unsuitable for an open-air school.

An application was received from the committee of the Oroua Downs School for a special grant to cover the loss of material in the recent fire. It was decided to make a grant of £2O.
