MARRIAGE RECORD

VICTORIA’S DISTINCTION.

IMPROVED CONDITIONS.

PROBABLE FACTOR. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copy right.) Received September 17, 10.35 a.m. MELBOURNE, Sept. 17. Marriages in Victoria for the six months ended June 30, namely 8224, were the highest on record. The Government Statistician said that the improvement on the corresponding period last year, when the number was 7717, was probably due to the revival in industry and a better financial outlook throughout Australia.
