BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Sept, 14. During tho week-end the final of the Rangitikei Golf Club’s championship was played at Bulls, N. Amon defeating R. F. Scott. Conditions were ideal in tho morning when tho players started on their long journey, but showers soon set in and the afternoon proved very boisterous. Both players began somewhat shakily, but soon settled down. Each had frequent lapses on the greens, and at the conclusion of the morning’s play Amon was 4 up. In the afternoon Amon further increased his lead, and was 6up at the 27th. Tho next was halved in fives. Amon won tho 29th in. 4 to Scott’s 5, and the 30th being halved in fives, Amon won tho match, 7 up and 6 to play. Details are as follow: —Morning play: Amon, 65454334 5—39; 5 4 4 5 4445 4 —39; total 78. Scott, 6 4 5 5 5 3 4 5 5—42; 54655444 4—41; total 83. Afternoon play: Amon, 55554444 4 40; 5 4 5. On Thursday members of the Rangitikei Ladies’ Golf Cljib will play on allday tournament. In the morning a “sealed partner” competition will be played for a trophy presented by Mrs R. 0. Dalryinple. Play will start at 10 a.rn., tho draw taking placo at the golf house. In the afternoon there will ho approaching and putting competitions for seniors and juniors. Mr C. M. Williams, M.P., of Kaiapoi, and Mr D. Barnes, M.P. for Waitaki, wero the guests of Mr Ormond Wilson, M.P., during tho week-end. Mr D. Hillier, who is an inmate of Wanganui Hospital, was reported to bo slightly better on Sunday. His son, Mr Leslie Hillier, was a visitor from Wellington during the week-end.
