KOPANE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) KOPANE, Sept, 14.

Miss D. Curtin, assistant mistress at the school, has returned from spending her vacation at her homo in Johnsonville. Miss Bury] Thomson has returned to lona College after spending the vacation with her parents. Mrs A. B. Prentice and her two daughters have returned homo after spending an enjoyable holiday at Bower Jlutt. Miss Margaret Morgan who has been staying in Palmerston North as the gueset of Miss M. Whyte, has returned to her home. Miss Betty Jones has been staying at Kiwitoa as the guest of Miss Margarct Luxmoore. For the past three week© heavy rains have fallen throughout the district. In spite of several strong gales, the land is still waterlogged and is thus preventing the fresh spring growth which should be occurring now. To-day the weather has taken a turn for the better, and it is hoped that the fine weather will hold for some time.
