CHAMPIONSHIP RUN. There was a good attendance of harriers for the Y.M.C.A. Club’s local championships held at Mr Oxenham’s residence, on Te Matai Road, on Saturday. The course of about 5J miles was all cross-country and the paddocks were very boggy after the recent rain. From the start K. Galloway took the lead, and although N. Hearsey and I. Vautier kept with him for most of the journey, lie came in with about 40 yards to spare. I. Vautier, who ran his best race of the season, finished second, and N. Hearsey, the first junior, was third. The following are _ the times and places of the first eight to finish: K. Galloway 37min. 38sec. 1 ; I. Vautier, 37min. 48sec., 2; N. Hearsey, 38mm. 12sec., 3; I. Ranford, 39min. smin., 4; C. McVicar, 39min. 7sec., 5; J. Woodd, 39min. 9sec., 6; S. McVicar, 40min. 20 sec., 7; Jv. Wilbv, 40min. GOsec., 8. After the run the members were entertained at afternoon tea.
