BUTTER MARKET SLOW. CHEESE~QUIET. The London butter market eased sharply last week, prices falling about 6s on the previous week. The market closed quiet with New Zealand finest salted at 109 sto 110 s a cwt. The New Zealand retail price has been lowered Id to Is 2d a lb., with Danish at Is 3d. Deliveries of Now Zealand butter last week totalled 1677 tons, as compared with 1490 tons for the previous week and 1996 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries were 736 tons as against 1070 tons a year ago. New Zealand stored butter now totals 5045 tons, including 1344 tons ex the Piako, as compared with 4530 tons for the previous week and 4322 tons a year ago. Australian butter in store amounts to 1640 tons, as against 2463 tons a year ago. The Dairy Board has received the following advice from its London office : —Cc:.! mental autumn production is ’’good. Reports of higher gradings of New Zealand and Australian butters are imluencing buyers. There are practically no shipments to America, owing to uncertainty as to the imposition of a dumping duty. The cheese market was also quieter last week with an easing in prices. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese totalled 15,614 crates, as compared with 21,387 crates a year ago, while the quantity in store is 68,253 crates, as against 81,726 crates a year ago. Canadian deliveries were 8687 boxes, as compared with 6518 boxes a year ago, the quantity in store being 70,637 boxes against 61,464 boxes a year ago. The Dairy Board has received the following report from its London office: Market quiet. Canadian chese make continues in excess of last year, but United Kingdom make is now decreasing.
