TESTING OF HEEDS.

BUSH ASSOCIATION. Members from Woodville, Eketahuna and Pa.hiatua were present at the fifth annnal meeting of the Bush Cooperative Herd Testing Association, held in Pahiatua yesterdav afternoon. Under the ward system the following officers retire from the executive this year:—Eketahuna district. Mr A. Campbell; Pahiatua district. Air W. Fulton ; Woodville district, Air J. AI. Hutchinson. All three members were returned to office for a. further term. Tire report of the chairman (Air A. Campbell) was read as follows: —“In presenting this, the fifth annual report, I am pleased to say it shows that very encouraging progress has been made by the association. The position financially is very satisfactory, and the number of herds and cows under test shows a steady increase—B4 herds, compared with 65 last year, and the number of cows from 3243 to 4024 under the group system sets a new record. We hope that, with better prices assured for our produce next year, a further record will be established, and that a.ny increase in cost may be met with increased revenue, and so keep our test fees down to the present low level. There has been practically no June tee.ting this year, and the association was saved some expense in that respect. Air JBroughton having resigned, Air H. Bell was appointed testing officer in the north, and Air R Hail was appointed sampling officer in the south. I take this opportunity of thanking the members of the executive for the way in which they have assisted to carry on the business of the association. In conclusion, I wish all members a successful and prosperous 1936-37 season.” BUTTERFAT RETURNS. Following is a summary of butterfat returns in the association’s area:
