MARTON SALE. Messrs Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report on their fortnightly sale at Marton on Tuesday:—We submitted a large entry of hoggets of both sexes along with several pens of 2-tli. and aged ewes r.w. S.D. rams, the total entry comprising 1780 sheep, 70 pigs and 100 head of cattle. The sale right from the outset was of a particularly animated nature, and we report practically a total clearance at auction with values ruling higher than at any of our recent sales, this applying to nether and ewe hoggets with breeding ewes rather slow of sale. Our entry of cattle was comprised principally of dairy cattlo and for these the market was slow. The demand for pigs was keen with a good clearance. Quotations: Best wether hoggets, 17s 6d, 18s 6d, 19s, 20s. 20s 6d. 21s. 21s lid; smaller sorts, 15s, 15s 6d, 16s, 16s Oil to 17s; ewe hoggets, 26s 6d. 28s 9d to 30s Id ; 2-th. ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 30s Od. 31s 6d, to 34s 6d; aged ewes r.w. S.D. ram 21s 6d, 22s 6d, to 2-ls; fat wethers. 24s 6d. 26s 6d to 28s fid ; fat lambs. 22s to 24s 6d ; forward ewes, 12s 6d, 13s fid. 14s: spg. dairy heifers, £4 10s. £4 15s. £5. £5 ss, £5 10s. £6 to £6 10s; spg dairy cows, £4, £4 10s to £5; fat cows ex dairy. £3, £3 10s to £4 15s; wnr. Jersey heifers. £2 ss. £2 Bs. to £2 9s ; weaner pigs. 10s, 12s, 14s, 15s; stores. 16s, 18s, 20s, to 21s; light porkers, 2os, 27s fid to 30s.
AVOODVILLE SALE
Messrs Abraham and "Williams, Ltd. report «a small yarding of sheep with a good one of dairy cattle and empty cows at the Woodville sale. Competition for all classes of stock submitted was keen and wo report a total clearance at auction.
