TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
OLD PUriLS’ ASSOCIATION. On Tuesday evening the Technical School Old Students’ Assooiaatiori held its annual meeting in the school assembly liall. The meeting, which was attended by many present and intending mem be s, was presided over by Mr A. Costall. Apologies foi | absence were received from Miss J. ; Christian and Mr G. Anderson. Among those present was Mr G. G. Hancox (president of the association), who! voiced his appreciation of the assist-: once given by. the association to the» school. i The report and balance-sheet wore placed before the meeting. The president commented on the activities dm- | irig the year, which had been very full and which had ended with a pleasing report and a very creditable balance sheet. The association was thanked for a donation towards the cost of the new kitchen for the hall. Appreciation of the services of the ladies’ committee, doorkeeper and others assisting to make the year’s functions a success was placed on record, llegret was expressed at the resignation of the secretary (Miss T. Holmes) who had devoted a considerable amount of her time- to the association, llegret was also expressed at the loss of three prominent members of the committee during the year, Miss D. Morgan, Mr K. Bamberg and Mr J. Lcddra. Nominations were called and ballots decided for the incoming committee, those elected being:— Misses N. Jordan, A. Clark, F. Barrie, E. Hubbard and M. Hancox, Messrs A. Costall, D. Mitchell, A. Barsauti, R. Wright and L. Barsauti. August 5 was proposed as the date for the annual ball, and August 19 for the annual dinner. Musical items were gi’ - en by Miss 1). Morgan. Mr A. Suunborn, Mr L. Bennett and Mr D. Mitchell, and Mr 11. Wright officiated at the piano for dance numbers. Miss M. Hancox contributed an elocutionary number and community singing was enjoyed, Miss N. Jordan being at tlie piano. An opportunity was taken to inspect the kitchenette, which had proved of exceptional benefit to the ladies’ committee. Supper was served bv the members of the retiring committee.
