AUSTRALIANS WIN TEST. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 12. Maintaining their unbeaten record, the touring Australian soccer team decisively beat New Zealand in the second Test at the Basin Reserve yesterday. A good crowd saw Australia playing with more vigour than in the match against Wellington. They raced away to a 5-0 lead in the first spell and on resumption completely dominated the game to win by 10 goals to nil. New Zealand played as well as they were allowed, but it was a ragged best and they fell far short of providing the opposition that had been expected of them. They were never happy against the brilliance and speed of the Australian attack and their morale suffered when McQuarrie, the left half, had to retire early in the game with a bad eye injury. It was soon apparent that New Zealand with ten men would be no match for Australia with eleven, and when later first Clear and then Cawtheray had to receive attention for injuries, tbp New Zealand attack became even more disorganised. MATCH AT MOSCOW. IN RED SQUARE.. MOSCOW, July 11. One of the most extraordinary soccer matches in history was played in connection with celebrations on Constitution Day in the Red Square, which was covered by a green onepiece carpet, properly marked out and surrounded by a synthetic cinder track on which relay, races were run. The teams played soccer in the presence of M. Stalin and M. Molotov and other notables, who watched a parade of 70,000 athletes representing all sports. Swimmers crawl-stroked across the square in a portable tank.
