OLD MASTERS SOLD.

THE OPPENTIEIMER COLLECTION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBt, July 11. The sale of the famous art collection of the late Henry Oppenheimer began at Christie’s to-day when his drawings by old masters were put up for auction. Leonardo da Vinci’s drawing entitled “Rider on a Rearing Horse,” which measures 5.) inches by about 5 inches, fetched 41C0 guineas. Nine small sketches by Fra Bartolomes were sold for just under £ISOO. Seven pen and wash drawings by Antonio Canaletto attracted keen bidding and realised £2105. One of them called “Ascension Day at Venice” was secured - for the British Museum at 800 guineas.
