PAHIATUA, July 4. The championship points in the senior anti junior basketball competitions a.re as follow : —Senior. —Rovers 10, Konini 8, Waratalis 0, Athletic 0. Junior: Convent 8. Woodville 8. High School 7, Papatawa 5, Athletic 0. In the senior Rugby match between Mangat'ainokia and Konini, played at Bahiatua on Saturday, tries were scored for Mangataiuoka by White (2). Lett kicked a penalty and converted one try. Mahoney crossed for Konini and Udy kicked two penalties, the final score being 11—9 in favour of Mangataiuoka. A meeting of the Paliiatua Amateur Athletic Club was held on Friday evening, when it was decided that the club cease to exist, and in view of this tho funds and trophies were hand-

ed over to the Paliiatua Amateur Cycling Club, members expressing the opinion that as the money had been subscribed for sport it should be spent aS> The following report was submitted by the overseer (Mr S. Ballance township: Grading work has been attended 1 to. Track-Ball ance Gorge: Slips have been removed and 100 cubic vards of metal has been spread where required. Woodville-Aohanga: On the Makuri section several large slips have been removed. On the Kolunui section scrub has been cut and watertables have been cleaned Makuri township: On the Ohineremta section the river has cut in and washed out the road for a distance, of appioximately three chains.
