Tbe monthly meeting of the Alangatainoka Young Farmers’ Club was held on Thursday evening, Air K. Pryde presiding. A lecture on i>ig raising was given by Air K. AV. Gorringe. Arrangements were made to hold a field day at the property of Air J. Campbell, of Ngaturi The chairman of the Tararua Electric Power Board, Air J. D. AVilson, has tabled a notice to rescind a previous resolution whereby the board decided to hold monthly meetings and that the finance committee should meet every month. Tho chairman explained that it was desirable to have full board meetings monthly to give members an opportunity of participating in more of the board’s affairs. AA'hile plaving for High School ao-ainst the Pahiatua junior basketball team in the Drill Hall on AVednesday, Miss Jean Groves was thrown against the wall and sustained a broken wrist. The Bush ladies’ hockey team was defeated by the North Taranaki representatives by 7 goals to 2 in a match played at New Plymouth on Thursday. _ , . . Airs L. T. Russell, ot Pahiatua., is at present indisposed. Mr J. G. Green of the staff of the Tararua Power Board, has been appointed engineer to the Electric Power Board at Pio Pio/ Alisses J. and N. Booth are spending a. holiday in Feilding and Palmerston North.
