ALARMING EXPERIENCE.

EARLY MORNING INCIDENT. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, June 26. Early this morning Mrs Jessie, Cleland, aged 37, of North East Valley, was attacked in her bedroom by an intruder who, when slie screamed, struck her about the head with a shoe, blackening both eyes, then decamping with some 8s in money. Mrs Cleland’s husband, a baker, had left for work about 3 a.m. and an hour later she was awakened to find a man in her room. Suffering from shock,, the victim was afraid to leave the room until the arrival of the milkman, to whom she reported the attack.’
