Mrs Sea! sent a copy to England and informed the authorities in New Zealand that she intended to have it released ior publication this month if drastic steps were not taken by the Government to remedy the existing state of affairs Mrs Seal received the following telegram from the Minister of Agriculture yesterday:— “Decisions have been arrived at in the direction of improving the conditions connected with the bobby calf trade. To give effect to the decisions toe Executive Commission of Agriculture has recommended the bringing do.vn of regulations governing the exposure, collecting and transport of calves, and these regulations will become effective for the opening of the seasonal trade. I would urge you to desist from taking the action you propose.” ,urs Seal said that, in view of the Minister’s promise, she was holding up tile publication of the report in England for the present, but added that she would leave no stone unturned until the whole system of dealing with animals was altered.
