The Exchequer returns show that the total ordinarv revenue, excluding selfbalancing items, amounts to £93,907,203, compared with £100,370.837 at the corresponding date last year. The yield of surtax, stamps and Customs and several minor items is greater than for the same period of the last fina.ncial year, hut the receipts from income tax and estate duties are less. However, the principal difference in the revenue to date between the present and the last financial year is under the heading “Miscellaneous Receipts,” which are over two and a half million pounds less. .So la.r this year the total ordinary expenditure, exclusive of self-balanc-ing items, is £154,988,176, compared with £154,083,928 at the corresponding date in 1935.
