LATE LORD ALLENBY.
BURIAL IN THE ABBEY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBV, May 16. Field-Marshal Lord Allenby will be buried in the Warriors’ Chapel at Westminster Abbey on Tuesday. The King will be represented by Field-Marshal Sir Philip Chetwode, while Field-Marshal Sir Claud Jacob will represent the Duke of Connaught. VICE-REGAL MESSAGE. WELLINGTON, May 18. The following message has been dispatched by the Governor-General, Lord Galway, to Lady Allenby in connection with the death of Viscount Allenby : "The Government and people of New Zealand, with whom Lady Galway arid 1 associate ourselves, wish to express profound sorrow at the passing of your husband, and to convey to you deepest sympathy in the great loss you have sustained. ‘Viscount Allenby’s high personal qualities and splendid achievements in the service of the Empire will live long in the memory of New Zealanders, and especially of those who still remember him as the inspired commander who led the way to victory in Palestine.”
