(From Our Own Correspondent.) A PIT I, April 18. Beautiful weather was experienced during' the' Easter holidays and the many parties of deer-stalkers in the Rualiine ranges spent an enjoyable week-end. One party of four accounted for sixteen deer, but an eight-pointer was file best head securedThe first annual meeting of the Apiti branch of the Women’s Division of the I Farmers’ Union was held during the week, .Mrs 11. L. Osborne presiding over a good attendance of members and visitors.„ Miss Muriel Nix was the only nomination for the girls’ educational week to be held in Palmerston North. Members, donated 16s 3d to the McGregor Memorial Fund. The secretary-treasurer (Mrs F. Munro) was congratulated on her excellent report of branch activities since its formation on September 4, 1935. During that time three housekeeping engagements have been fulfilled and assistance given to one necessitous case. A donation of £2 has been made to the community chest fund. The balancesheet revealed a very satisfactory credit. In her presidential address. Mrs Osborne thanked all members for their whole-hoarted co-operation and especially Mrs Munro for her very able services. The secretary was voted an honorarium, part of whicli she has donated to the branch funds. Miss Muriel Nix was proposed as a junior member. Mrs F. Munro was voted to the chair to conduct the election. Mcsdames Hocken and Lodge, of the Kiwitea-Kimholton branch, were appointed tellers. As the nominations did not exceed the required number, a ballot was not necessary. The following were elected to office : —President, Mrs A- R- McNac; vice-presidents, Mcsdanics A. G. Prince. A. Vilcs. H. O'. McIntyre, F. Munro, W. J. Vilcs; secretary, Miss Mcßay; treasurer, Miss Paterson; advisory members, Mcsdames W. J. Vilcs and T. Nix; trustees of bank account, Mrs F. Munro and Miss Paterson. As Mrs McNae took tlie chair she was presented with the president’s badge by the retiring president, Mrs Osborne. The new president then called for a vote of thanks to Mcsdamois Osborne and Munro. Afternoon lea was served by Mcsdames W. J. Vilcs, T. Nix, A. G. Prince, and W. R. Pratt. Miss Brock, of Feilding, is on a holiday visit to her sister, Mrs J. Buckman. Miss P. Pratt has been visiting Wellington and Piclon. Mr C. M. Stanley spent Easter in camp at Pohangina with the Legion of Frontiersmen. Miss Marjorie Malone has been on a short visit to ’Wellington.
