PAHIATUA.
PAHIATUA, April 20. Several improvements are contemplated by the Pahiatua County Council along the Kohinui Road in the near future, according to Mr S. Macrae, the county Overseer. One of these that will receive first consideration is the replacement of the dangerous crossing over the Mangaram&ralna creek, where it is proposed to put a new structure to the right of the present bridge, obviating the present dangerous curve. Further along this road, at Bolton’s bridge, is another very dangerous angle bridge and this will also be removed’and replaced with a comparatively straight run through. There are two dangerous approaches to bridges over the two tributaries of the Tii-aumea stream, and with the remplacement of the first, known as the County Cottage bridge, which will do away with the wide curve leading round to the acute bend on to the bridge proper, it is suggested that the line be continued, oil to erect another bridge for the second stfeani that will link Up in one direct line. The Afa.ngatailioka Miniature Rifle, Club held its annual meeting in the library hall. The president, Mr H. Goodwin, said that the club had had a very successful year and the new season was starting with, a very satisfactory credit.
