(From Our Own Correspondent.) KOPANE, April 20. After a lopg spell of di'y weather the rain which fell on Sunday came as a welcome relief to nj*ny of tho farmers who were running short of water. Congratulations are exton'ded. to Miss Monica Nix on winning tho Kopanc ladies’ championship tennis singles and the handicap singles, also to W. Gloyn on winning the men’s handicap singles." Miss Molly Jones lias returned homo after spending a few days in Kiwitea. f J ho friends of Mrs W. A. Thomson are pleased to learn that she has returned to her homo after a short stay in hospital. Deepest sympathy is extended to Mr and Mrs A. F. Campbell, of Awahuri, in their recent sad bereavement.
