Diplomatic quarters regard as a. rebuff the committee's refusal to take notice of the invitation to Senor Madaria'ga to Rome, but are pleased with M. Flandin's reported sympathy. The refusal of the International Red Cross Committee to supply documentary evidence of the use of gas is described as a further triumph for Italy.
