The Government of President Cardonas effected a dramatic surprise coup to-day to get rid of the one man llKeiy to cnallonge tne supreme authority of. the existing regime. in tlie early hours Federal troops and police arrested the former President, Plutarco Calles, unceremoniously bundled him aboard an aeroplane, and deported him to the United States. AY ith him were likewise deported three of his most powerful political henchmen, Luis Alorones, former Minister of Lgbour, Buis Leon, former Aiinister of the Interior and Rafael Ortega, former Governor of the State of Guana Juato. . Apparently they had no warning ot their impending arrests as all four were found at their homes. It is officially stated that their deportation followed evidence implanting them in the recent railway wreck.
