PAHIATUA.

PAHIATUA, April 11. There was an attendance of 12 at the annual meeting of the Konini Miniature Rifle Club recently, Mr O. Stone presiding. Before proceeding with the meeting. Mr Stone asked all members to stand for a minute’'s silence in respect for the club’s late patron, Mr F. Brown. Mr Stone was elected president and Mr T. Daken secretary for the coming year. The balance-sheet was read and showed that the club was out of debt, -which was much appreciated by the members present. General work was then proceeded with. Mrs F. Brown was elected patron and Mr B. Udy was again elected handicapper. All members will serve on the working committee and will pair off to suit each other when the work is required each week Shoots will take place on Thursdays, the first on the first Thursday after Easter. A telescope will be procured. Mr R. A. Williams presided over an attendance of about 40 at the annual meeting recently of the Managtainoka Football Club. The balance-sheet, which showed a credit balance of £5 10s 2d, was passed and the election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, Mr E. L. Harvey; president, Mr V. Brown ; vice-presidents, Messrs P. Moynahan. W. Aitchison, R. Williams, W. C. Coldicutt, F. Rombacli, G. Hill, C. Walker and Mrs P. Reichenbach ; secretary, Mr A. Macpherson; club cajytain, Mr P. Moynahan; management committee, Messrs F. Staples, B. Harvey, E. Matthews. A. Small, E. Lett. L. Angelini, S, ‘Olliver, W. Bond and M. Reichenbach; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs E. L. Harvey, M. Reichenbach and W. Bond. A number of new playex-s were elected. Mr and Mrs G. W. Booth, of Tyndall Sti-eet, have left for an extended holiday in Auckland. Mr L. Humphrey, or Levin, and Mrs H. Humphrey, are spending the Easter holidays with Mrs W. J. Humphrey, of Cambridge Sti-eet.
