Tabouis, tlie well-informed correspondent, writing in L’Oeuvre, says information has, reached Geneva of a secret Japanese-German understanding which was concluded at the beginning of the year. Jt is believed that Germany surrenders to Japan all claim to tlie Marshall and Marianne islands, in the Pacific. Pointed comment is made at Geneva over Germany s apparent willingness to abandon a.l claims to these islands while demanding that France and Britain restore lormer German possessions in other parts of the world.
